Find some beeswax. Look for someone selling honey at your local farmers market, and ask them about buying beeswax. Or you can buy a block at some natural foods stores. You can also order beeswax pearls (also called pastilles or beads) online, and these may be easier to work with. Warm the beeswax in the microwave for a minute so that it will be easier to cut off a few pieces.
Using a kitchen scale, weigh the wax until you have about 3 ounces. Measuring would be easier with the beeswax pearls.
Melt beeswax in the slow cooker over low to medium heat. After the wax has melted, add the coconut oil and almond oil. Use a metal spoon to mix the oils together or pick up the pot (wearing oven mitts) and swirl them together.
Add drops of peppermint oil to the mixture and mix or swirl again. Now you’re ready to transfer the mixture to containers where it will cool and harden into a balm.
Gather tiny glass containers. You can find these at a craft store or order online.
Carefully fill each container with the melted mixture, use a small metal spoon to dip and fill. The wax will coat the spoon, but it’s better to use metal than a porous material like wood. You could also try pouring it through a small funnel, but you might need a helper for that method. The mixture will start to harden up quickly.
If the beeswax drips on the side of your container, just let it harden scrap it off later after the containers are cool.
After they’re cool, close up the containers and add decorative labels if desired.
