Gather Supplies

Woof, woof, and alagazam! With a few simple supplies and about 20 minutes, your dog can have a perfectly spellbinding Halloween costume.

Print Pattern and Cut Fabric

Print the pattern and pin it to the felt. Cut the felt using the black lines on the pattern as your guide. Be sure to cut the notches on the inside of the brim shape

Assemble Cone

Overlap the edges of the cone shape as indicated in gray on your pattern and hot glue along the edge.

Adhere Cone to Brim

Attach the brim piece to the cone piece by gluing the notches to the inside bottom edge of the cone.

Add Band Around the Hat

Cut a strip of green felt 1” x 12-1/2”. You may have to cut it diagonally along a sheet of felt to get a long enough strip or attach two shorter pieces. Glue the strip of green felt around base of the hat.

Create the Braids

Gather a small bundle of yarn about 18” long and tie a knot at the top. Braid the yarn, tie the end off with a scrap of yarn and then trim the bottom even. Repeat for the second braid.

Adhere Braids to Hat

Use hot glue to attach the yarn hair to the inside of the hat on each side of the bottom edge.

Add Chin Strap

Measure your dog from ear to ear and cut a piece of elastic to that measurement. Glue the elastic strap inside the hat.

Step 9

Try It On

Put the hat on your pooch and cackle at how witchy your pup looks!
